Introduction

The Satsang Examinations held annually by Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) play a foundational role in enriching and enlightening thousands of devotees, young and old, with the knowledge of Vedic, cultural and satsang values.
Satsang Examinations were the vision of Yogiji Maharaj, and realized through the inspiration and efforts of Pramukh Swami Maharaj.
Since its inception in 1972, the Satsang Examinations have developed into a graded nine-level curriculum for which annual exams are held at over 950 centers worldwide. Over 500,000 candidates have appeared for the various exams so far.
 

Examinations: Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Stages

 1.    Basic: 2 levels – Bal Satsang 1, Bal Satsang 2; specially for children aged between 9 and 12.
 2.    Intermediate: 4 levels – Prarambha, Pravesh, Parichay, Pravin.
 3.    Advanced: 3 levels – Pragna 1, Pragna 2, Pragna 3.
 
A fixed set of books comprise the syllabus for each level.
Candidates appear for one level each year and on successful completion proceed to the next level.
The examinations are set, conducted and moderated in accordance with strict academic standards by experienced examiners and moderators. Every year, prizes are awarded to the top performers in each exam.
 
The Bal Satsang 1 and 2 exams are based on one book each and comprise a 2-hour paper.
Printed copies of the Bal Satsang 1 and 2 course books may be obtained from BAPS bookstalls. The PDF versions can also be downloaded. Practice papers can also be downloaded to prepare for the exams.
 

Languages

Exam papers are set in English and Gujarati. Candidates must select the language in which they wish to write the exam at the time of registration.
